Well, it has happened, we now have new baby crack, or should I say Toddler crack. AS you guys know Aidan loves trains and plays with his train table all the time. We also found that the youtube videos of people’s model trains could keep him transfixed. I had been trying not to get Aidan too interested in the Thomas the Tank Engine stuff because the trains are so expensive. However, when you are trying to get something done and he just wants Trains!!! you do what you have to. He has only been watching the Thomas and Friends for a few days, but this morning he brought me the remotes said “Thomas” and went to sit in his chair facing the tv. Guess what he wanted. :)

Aidan’s godmother Lynn wasn’t able to come on the weekend for Aidan’s birthday but she came for a few days last week and stayed with us. It was so good to see her, and Aidan spent as much time with her as he could. It was soooo busy (and rainy) though that I didn’t get any pictures. I can’t believe that. I feel so bad. We did get to do a little shopping and Lynn spoiled Aidan rotten. She got him a Little People police station and petshop, and then when we went to Chapters she got Aidan a new train for his track. I am sure that by the time Lynn left on Friday she was mighty tired of reading Aidan his truck books and hearing “the TRUCK n’ the Truck”.

I think that Lynn had a good time and she certainly managed to get a lot of visiting in, and even managed to get to a Nelly Furtado concert. We can’t wait to see her again.

As most of the readers of this blog know, we try to get the grandparents on the web-cam at least once a week. Aidan has started to really interact with the camera or “cama” and with the people on the laptop. He knows who his Grandpa J. and Grandma K. are, and his Nana L., and is getting to know his Grand-Nana too (Anthony wants to know if you would mind being “Granny” mom). We also show Aidan lots of pictures on the computer (he loves this) almost everyday so that he knows all the faces of those who love him but are far away. Now we know he really likes this because last night when I was out at Guides, Aidan climbed up on Anthony’s lap, pointed at the computer and said “Grandpa”. (Now before anyone gets jealous, I think the Grandpa is the all encompassing word for the web-camming with the grandparents.) There wasn’t anyone online so Anthony showed Aidan a bunch of pictures and he was happy. Now we just need to get the great-grandparents, and Dad on a faster internet so we can see them and interact with them too. I know that it doesn’t make up for us being so far away, but it does help. He would like to see his Aunts and Uncles too. Hint, Hint. :)
