  • Back to the grind. Very different than our weekend! Here’s a short video teaser about #geocaching in Gold Country http://bit.ly/Kwou #
  • Sweltering ride in. Grateful for A/C in office. #
  • You guys don’t remember Bixby and Me? Great Canadiana! http://is.gd/1GQSY #showyourage @bluefur @cathybrowne #
  • .@kj_mclean Well, I’m glad *someone* remembers that show. “It’s Bixby and Me, we live in a tree…” #
  • 4:30 pm. Just *now* I’m able to do some real work. Crap, needs to be done by tomorrow. Good thing I planned on staying late… #
  • Ah-hah! Another one (@rtousi) remembers Bixby and Me. Maybe it was just an East Coast thing? #
  • Just blocked 16 ‘%s%d4’ % (name, randomFourDigitNumber) followers. Seriously if your username is NAME1234, I’ll block you. #FunWithPython #
  • Celebration of Light fireworks tonight in Vancouver over English Bay (Canada is showing tonight). High tide is at 8pm. Plan accordingly. #
  • RT @mynameiskate: Nice video response from Taylor Guitars about Dave Carroll & his guitar http://tr.im/tzEI (via @jgombita & @Terry_Foster ) #
  • Fireworks over English Bay. The tree between us and it gets more and more in the way. #
  • One cat hiding under the bed, one on my lap completely unfazed at the #CelebrationOfLight fireworks. #CatsAreMysterious #
  • Ah, the post-fireworks sounds: RCMP helos circling, angry boat horns in False Creek, sirens on ambulances heading to VGH. #BestPlaceOnEarth #
  • Uncontent with merely crawling around, Q has taken to standing on his own … about 8 months before his brother did #
  • Well, maybe that’s a bit unfair to A. Call it 6 motnths #
  • Or 6 months even #
  • Hey you old skool kids: Remember Kennedy Approach for the C=64? You can play it in Windows! http://is.gd/1IZL0 Serious time vampire! #
  • Today’s morning music? @StevenPage at the Winnipeg Folk Festival: http://bit.ly/ATk6c #
  • RT @bcbusiness: Finance Minister Colin Hansen announces BC sales tax to be harmonized with federal GST. #
  • What’s the difference between GST and HST? Other than the provincial surcharge, nothing. http://bit.ly/cwKXy #
  • BC HST announcement includes list of “point-of-sale rebates” on fuel, books, kid’s clothes + supplies. Hmm, so any net change for consumers? #
  • RT @capsuspbridge: Win 2 Day Passes worth $60! RT “Capilano Suspension Bridge made me do this to win” until 2 pm PST #

  • Gargh. @twitter purges spam accounts and already I have 6x NAME+4digit spammers following me. Give. It. Up. #
  • Off to the #Blogher09 pity party (Vancouver). Come join us at Spanish Banks West! #
  • Today I find myself agreeing with @buzzbishop: The echo chamber is in full effect #blogathon #blogher09 #NotEnoughFilters #BackOnMonday #
  • Thunder showers in Greater Vancouver. Not what you want to hear when the fire risk is extreme. #
  • Thunderstorms, so rare for Vancouver, are getting more intense. Time to start thinking about unplugging sensitive equipment. #
  • Ho-lee! Lightning filling the sky here. Time to shut everything down. Later tweeps! #
  • RT @alexishinde: The lightning is so dramatic that people on the beach [for tonight’s fireworks] are cheering for each strike. #
  • BIG white “cloud” coming from Cypress or behind. Hope that’s not the smoke that it looks like :o #
  • Gwen is on the balcony watching the lightning. Aidan is in the dining room, doing same. I guess we’re going to let him watch the fireworks! #
  • Geocaching the Gold Trail, Day 1(video) Part I: http://is.gd/1NCZ8 Part II: http://is.gd/1ND1c #

Here’s Day 1 in videologue of our trip to Gold Country:

Day 2 will come later…

Anthony on , 20 Jul 2009 03:15 am
  • Had to fight the 1000s of cyclists xing the newly-claimed Burrard St bridge while riding into UBC today. I kid, I kid… #BurrardBikeLanes #
  • The true test of the #BurrardBikeLanes will be the afternoon rush. Hopefully the typical light summer flow won’t cause any troubles. #
  • RT @GPSFix GSAK Garmin Ore/ Colo export macro adds support for geocache sub-icons, fixes earthcache icon issue + more http://tiny.cc/aiglQ #
  • Uh-oh. At work with summer man-cold … and just used the last Kleenex. Crap. #
  • Huge power outage in Vancouver right now, mostly in Fairview… #
  • Not on BC Hydro website, but #vancouverblackout seems to encompass King Ed to seawall, Cambie to Burrard #
  • BC Hydro has map showing 30000 customers w/o power, Fairview, Kits, Shaughnessy http://is.gd/1xwLt #vancouverblackout #
  • And just like that, Fairview has power. I guess the #bikepolypse isn’t here yet. #vancouverblackout #
  • mt #
  • Yeah, you heard me. mt. Funny how Tweetdeck didn’t generate a manifest. #MultitaskingTooMuch #
  • My wife just totally went out and busted the asses of the guys smoking up outside our (and Q’s) bedroom #
  • RT @CrunchyCarpets: water broke at midnite…..wish us luck! [Awesome! About time! Good luck and be well!] #
  • RT @johnbiehler I can almost understand why they still use IE6…but it’s time to upgrade when you have staff [younger] than your browser #
  • RT @sret: Great Tweets of Science: hilarious! http://is.gd/1yLgD (via @phdcomics). [ROTFL. Well, not literally, but you get the idea] #
  • ! @CrunchyCarpets @Arcane_Bimmer Congratulations on the new arrival! That’s a big little girl! in reply to CrunchyCarpets #
  • Good god, no wonder it’s so hard to be progressive in this city. Compensation for businesses near the Burrard St bridge? Grow up! #
  • Just watched @pennjillette + @mrteller’s Bullsh!t on video game violence. I hate it when anyone makes kids cry. It was a predictable result. #
  • In other news, the cat just emerged from behind the fireplace screen. Sneezing. Good thing 1) she’s black and 2) there was no fire. #DumbCat #
  • RT @earnestgirl: Piglets4Peace – hey Bill Nye @thescienceguy is on Twitter! #
  • Congrats to @buzzbishop and Jen for the newest expected addition to their family! #
  • BC geocachers planning on going to GWVIII — any thoughts about hotels? #
  • RT @WestJet: In true WestJet fashion, here’s our take http://kl.am/1qEK [This is awesome, I’m surprised other airlines haven’t done this] #
  • Hey @tweetdeck, I’ve noticed that when I post something, Tweetdeck will often overlook some incoming Tweets that came at the same time! #
  • Well, goll-ee, they might just get the Space Shuttle lanuched today! Watch it live on NASA TV: http://is.gd/1A8ZJ #
  • Shuttle launch will be in about 18 minutes, no weather concerns today, everything is “Green for Go!” #

  • RT @LeftCoastMama: Attention Blogher Non-attendees: Pity Party Details: http://bit.ly/nDfuW #
  • Un-freaking-believable! Remember my bitching about Rogers? Got my unadjusted bill today with overdue charge. Rogers just lost a customer. #
  • I mean, call me a liar and make me promises you don’t keep? Doesn’t sound like you value me as a customer, #rogers #
  • Related: iPhone envy has evapourated. No way I’d give that much money to Rogers. #RogersDoesntCare #
  • Watching Fraggle Rock with my boys. I suspect I might be enjoying it more than them, tho… @zipca rocks! #
  • Nah, I take it back, they’re both completely captivated by the Fraggles. #RIPJimHenson #
  • RT @WestJet: We took the video down. Hey, we’ve snapped the odd guitar string ourselves so it didn’t seem fair to poke fun. [Boo!] #
  • RT @dbarefoot: Oldest woman to give birth (at 66) dies (at 69), leaving twins behind: http://bit.ly/7mpmJ [*This* is why it was stupid!] #

  • Heading off to meet @cognoscento to arrange plans to take over the world. You’ve been warned. #
  • Translink defeated my plan to get from UBC to downtown on time – broken bus! #
  • Finished planting seeds of the hidden city into the brain of @cognoscento. Surely world domination follows! #
  • RT @BreakingNews: An unknown person fired three shots from an air gun at the Tour de France, injuring three riders [Tusken Raiders?] #
  • Wait, maybe it was Tuscany, not Tusken, Raiders shooting riders at Le Tour #tdf #
  • I’m using TwitDiff to watch my quitters. What about you? http://bit.ly/19sm5F #
  • Does anyone have any comments on using Vonage in Vancouver? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? #

  • Ended the day at 10 Gold Country caches. Pretty good with 2 tots. No prob for 14 tmrrw! #
  • The fact that it’s satellite radio does not lessen the hick factor one itoa. Yes, *you* blaring country music out of your truck at a motel. #
  • No where near Kelowna but after tromping in the woods today and seeing all the Mountain Pine Beetle trees, I’m surprised more isn’t burning! #
  • O.M.G. It’s 10:45 and the 4 yr old is *still* awake. Vacations are fun. #screwed #
